When not otherwise indicated, what, in your opinion, is the maximum length for a "brief" essay?!

I was gonna say 2 pages double spaced, but I do not generally go against CB

3/4ths of a page looks more substantial than half a page, but not as douchebaggy as a full page. If you have a full page and then one or two lines on a second page, then you're a tool.

I think I looked over "maximum" when I answered the OP's question. Now after having seen that, I'd say that you should definitely not go over a single-spaced page. I was thinking about what my initial target was when I saw instructions that said "brief essay," which was about 1/2 page single-spaced.

I would agree.....one page. Be enough to outline your story, but not every granular detail.
