Do you think it would be looked down upon to bring a pen and notepad to an interview to have questions prepared to ask and to take notes on anything you might learn or to take note of misc info such as interviewers name & address?

I was planning on bringing one in my bag. It shows an interest in the school. 👍

Pretty much everyone does it; most will have a leatherbound folder.

I had one, and I thought it was useful to stick papers in. However, if the school is giving you a lot of paper, then you'll probably get a folder.

I brought a laptop in during my interviews.

just kidding

Is it a good idea to bring table pc? 🙄

is it ok to bring some hash? that way you and the interviewer will be hungry enough to actually eat the cafeteria food...

At every interview I had last year, nearly everyone brings a leatherbound folder. Not once was it useful. At All. It's not like you get pop quiz's requiring paper once you get in the interview room. Most schools will give you a folder with all their promotional crap in it and they usually have a pen and extra paper along with it.

I still brought mine with me every time. I guess I just wanted to look cool like all the other kids.

The only reason I was thinking of bringing one is so I could have questions for the school prepared ahead of time... So I wouldnt forget to ask a certain question...

Seriously.. don't bring it just for that... you're going to look like a tool reading off from a sheet of paper. Memorize them, or come up with some genuine ones during the interview.

what kind of leather bound folder do u guys use??

It would be a good idea to bring some water.

sure, but only if it is corned beef hash...tasty!

I would bring a notepad. Its better if you get bored u can doodle or make fun of people in there, it beats fondling items on their desk or picking ur nose in the first-impressions department.

I think it's a lot of fun to bring a notebook. Then, while the interviewer is taking notes on me, I can write stuff down also. Kinda evens up the field a little bit. For the most part, I used my notebook while the dean was speaking and right after my interview to jot down ideas of I wanted to include when I emailed my interviewers.

Mine is a leather portfolio made from Samsonite. You can get one from Office Depot for like $20 bucks or something. I got mine a few years back, I think I paid around $20 or so.

i brought a audio recorder. it had a microphone that attached to it, so my interviewer and i just passed the mic back and forth as we spoke. it really added to the interview experience.

I hate those leather bound folders. From a mile away, you can tell that the dressed up guy/gal with one of these folders is interviewing. Has a "cheesy" element to it in my mind. But that's just my opinion. The worst, btw, are the ones you buy at the bookstore with undergrad eblem.

I look forward to meeting you cheesballs during interviews. 😉 😛
