I'm taking Step 2 CS in a couple of days and First Aid says to bring nothing other than your white coat. Does the testing center provide you with a stethoscope/reflex hammer/penlight, etc?

Thanks

Hi,

you have to go with your white coat and stethoscope. Dont forget your scheduling permit and your confirmation notice plus ID. On the scheduling permit they have stipulated the dos and donts for the exam.

they tell you to bring a stethoscope and white coat but they will have extras there that you can borrow for the day if you dont have them, they get lost by the airline, etc...

every room will be equipped with reflex hammers, otoscope, and everything else you need so you dont have to bring anything else. they will even provide you with a clip board, paper and pens.

good luck!

They also provide you with a locker to store the stuff you brought that you're not allowed to have with you during the exam. If you have a small travel bag you can store it in the locker too which is convenient.

don't forget if you plan on using a watch it must be analog. no digital watches allowed. i know this messed up at least a few people i took the test with.
and one more piece of advice, don't read all the i was aoa and top 3 in my top 5 med school and i failed threads. all those are good for is freaking you out.
good luck.

In one review book, I read the following hint: turn your watch so that it faces inward rather than outward. In that way you can better pace yourself without the SP being aware of you checking the timepiece. Frankly, I thought that was brilliant. Because no matter what they say, you have to keep abreast of the time factor. This seems to be the only way that I have seen to get around the problem.

Hope this is helpful to some,

Nu

actually i was just looking at the usmle website because i am takling ck tom; new announcement for cs states NO watches at all after jan 1 for cs. so be prepared to use a wall clock or your biological clock...it's ticking.

Imagine all the cheating that will go on, until January 1st, using analog watches.
