Mine actually holds up quite well in my suitcase. No wrinkles! 🙂

Do you fold it any special way? I'd hate to have to steam it once I arrive...

if you have a wool suit, you can hang it in the bathroom and turn on the shower hot hot hot, close the door and let it steam for a few minutes. (don't let the suit get wet, or course, but do get some nice hot steam going.)

if you have a polyester suit, it probably won't wrinkle too much in your suit case. you will want to keep it as flat as possible and use as few folds.

i have a regular sized luggage, and normally i would fill it 3/4 to the top. then i will fold my suit in half, stuff my towel in between, and lay it flat on top of everything else. i never had to iron my suit. 😀

I brought my suit over from Europe for my interview last week. My thought was to bring it in a garment bag and ask the friendly flight attendant if she/he could hang it for me. When I got on and asked; she smiled, looked at my ticket, realized that I was a lowly coach passenger, and said I would have to place it in the overhead. Don't you love the airline caste system?! Nevertheless, a light steaming brought it back to a wrinkle-free state.

yeah...i put it in the overhead compartment - 4 interviews so far and no wrinkles yet.

oh and if you take your bag and your suit bag both as carry-ons (i don't like to check in luggage if i don't have to) sometimes they say you can't do that, cause it's 2 carry ons and most airlines only allow 1 carry on and a personal item that can "fit under the seat in front of you." So when asked, i just tell them "Oh, i'm gonna roll this up and put it under the seat in front of me." works every time, and they have better things to do than check up on you to make sure you didn't use precious overhead compartment space for your damn suit.

For my first interview I took a garment bag and took it carry on. No wrinkles, no worries. For my second interview I got brave and folded it into my cary on suitcase. It was slightly wrinkled when I took it out, but I just hung it up in the bathroom while I took a shower that morning. That took care of all the wrinkles.

mine folds easily into my carry-on and as long as i pack it well on a flat surface minimal wrinkles that then fall out quickly. I'm sure being 5'4" has it's advantages in terms of the size of my suit...

I have a suitcase that's meant for suits, which is what I've used so far. But I'm not going to bring it on any more overnight trips because it's technically too big to be a carry-on and I almost had to check it last time. I think you're supposed to use it for a whole week's worth of suits, because it's pretty empty as is!

Now I'm going to probably just fold up my suit and put it in my backpack or whatever; it was folded up in the bag from the store for a few days and it didn't wrinkle too much. Use socks and T-shirts to pad the folds, and you should be fine.

i have a garmet bag and brought it on the plane with me and hung it up in their coat rack. i think most planes have coat racks but you can check when you are picking your seat. on the diagram, you'll see a picture of a coat hanger where the rack is. just don't forget to pick it up on your way off the plane...total nightmare time. i was scared i would do that, but thankfully i remembered.

I remeber when I was on the interview trail there were people who put their baggage in thier suitcase and it was lost. So, the moral of the story is to either carry it with you as a carry on or wear it. Hope this helps.

i tried your method, but i packed it so bad that my suit was full of wrinkles! i just hang it now! people note: southwest does not have hangars.
also, if you are flying united, they are VERY nice in taking and hanging it, no matter what class you fly in.
