I would like to know more about this program. Why is it on probation? Do the residents feel it is a good learning environment? Are residents prepared for the boards when they finish, etc...?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I may have a friend of a friend who would be able to help me out with a residency position at this program, so I want to get more specifics about the program.

I rotated at Brookdale. Only accept a position here if you have no other options and you only want anesthesia. It is a very weak program, in an awful hospital, in a terrible part of New York. You will not get a good caseload, you will work with malignant surgeons and I believe the board pass rate is very low. Just don't do it. Good luck.

They also do not go through ERAS.
