Brown MD/PhD Program

According to the web site, the Brown Medical School only accepts students into the MD/PhD program who are currently enrolled in the medical school. I applied to the Alpert Medical School in order to hopefully go this route, but I know very little about the process.

If we are not currently enrolled in the Alpert Medical School, is it possible to apply for the MD/PhD program at the outset?

Used to be possible, now it's not. The program is in a state of flux, but we're hoping a new administration will help fix that. If you enroll as an MD student, you can apply during your first year (maybe second, I don't remember). In any case, good luck.
