I already have the Lippincott's but I'm not sure how it compares to BRS.

I didn't really use the Lippincott until my GI block. Even then I used it mainly for the major metabolic cycles and paths.

I suck at biochem btw.

I have FA but I don't think the biochem section is dense enough for me to recall and relearn.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

For what it's worth, I used BRS for Biochem, and actually liked it

I owned both, and felt lippincott was better for understanding concepts. Also, the BRS 4th edition was full or errors, which was another reason why I stopped using BRS. Check out the reviews written on amazon. The 5th edition of the BRS book is out, but I can't tell you if the errors have been corrected.

If biochem is giving you a hard time, the lippincott book may be the best choice.

Lipincott is gold!! Don't use any other book. It will help you understand it and do very well in your class. If you have the money, BRS is useful for the questions at the end of each chapter. So ideally you'd use both, but just use BRS for the questions.

FWIW I used both, and this is my educated opinion.

Lippincott's was all it took for me. I found it good for the general overview and pictures. Check out the high yield board review book. I thought it was awesome and pretty representative, if not more difficult than the NBME for biochem.

Use Lippincott's, BRS has lots of mistakes in it and it's just boring to read IMO.

I also used Rapid Review, I enjoyed that a lot.

Thanks for all the input! This will save me some money@

Lippincott! So money.

The BRS has a lot of errors, but BRS Physio is great. Rapid Review is pretty good too.
