What are your thoughts? Are they similar to USMLE format or not? I just finished my first year, and I want to get books together this summer so that I will have all my resources ready for next summer, when I will take the USMLE.

From the physio, biochem, and path books I felt they were more a regurgitation of what was in the chapter isntead of application of concepts or "boards style questions".

But that's just my opinion. I'd suggest looking at the sample released questions, an NBME, USMLE world or the robbins review book to compare as those are highly recommended question sources.

Not even close. USMLEWorld is the best representation of the style of question you'll see on the exam.

Definitely not, but that doesn't mean the BRS books aren't valuable-- you just shouldn't be buying them for question sources. You'll probably want to use an online source for questions anyway for the sake of simplicity and statistic tracking.
