I'm currently a student at UCSD who has a major passion for Computer Science (I initially posted I was a Computer Engineer). After reviewing what my school had to offer, I was sparked with interest when I found out that there was a major that integrated CS, Bio, and Chem into one sweet program that contains all the pre-reqs needed to get into several Pharm schools!

My question is, how would a BS in Bioinformatics appear for Pharmacy schools? Last year only 8 people graduated with it from my program. (I don't know if that's good or bad for grad schools--I do know that it might be as a result of CS workload mixed with sciences workload).

Bioinformatic is very difficult. UCSD also has one of the top bioinformatic program. You just mentioned there are only 8 people graduated from it last year. I am sure it will look great for pharmacy school. Since CS itself is already pretty challenging and you have to know Bio and Chem as well which for sure you will have heavy course load. But if you are passionate about being a pharmacist while also interest in CS then I say go for it!👍

It'll be fine as long as you have the pre-requisites done... Not sure why they'd care one iota. I was accepted with a social sciences undergraduate education, and lots of people go into pharmacy with non-science degrees. Why would Bioinformatics, a very difficult science, be any different?
