This is going to sound stupid but i have my interview at bu tomorrow and i dont know where to go. I figured that i would look at the email that their admissions sent to me but all that it says is that the interview will be held at the medical building on the third floor. Is that the 100 newton street address or somewhere else? Thanks in advance!

The dental school is on the corner of East Newton and Albany Street. When you get out of the elevator on the 3rd floor, make a left and walk down the hall to the admissions office. Thats where you meet with everyone. Good luck.

how was it? if you can provide any details, it will be very much appreciated. 🙂

Its supposed to go like this:

"a light breakfast, a tour of our facilities, meeting with faculty members, a personal interview, lunch with a dental student, and a financial services question and answer session."

right? how was the personal interview?

yeah, it went exactly like that. The interview was good, i got asked a lot of questions about dentistry, like what i thought about dental ethics, and what i thought a dentists role was in a large society. But other then that it was great!

Those questions sucked...I got, "How many siblings do you have?".

Those are hard questions. I guess I lucked out... I was asked easier ones such as... how many siblings do you have? What do they do? What is your strength and weakness?

And my interviewer was very specific to my personal statement... she constantly referred back to it so I would recommend rereading your personal statements before interview day.

I dont thing the dental ethics and dentistry questions are the norm...I was asked simple things like tell me a little bit about your family, etc. Same type of questions were asked of others I know. Overall, they're just trying to get to know you, not grill you. It's a pretty laid back interview, don't sweat it.

I emailed my interviewer a thank you...is that what everyone else did? Im sure its ok to do it that way right?

I think that is a great idea and will do so myself 😉

Dr. Shaw interviewed me last year...I wrote her a card and dropped it in a mailbox while I was still in Boston. When I got home, I emailed her as well. An email is fine, but a card shows more effort. Will it make much of a difference in the outcome? Doubtful, but given my situation last year, I had to make sure I threw it all out there.

hmm.. so you directed your thank-you card to the interviewer personally... just wondering, do you just write "thank you for interviewing me, have a nice day" ? hehe. 🙂

Yeah, i mailed it directly to her. I thanked her for taking the time to interview me. I mentioned how much I enjoyed my time at BU, enjoyed meeting the faculty, was impressed with the school, etc... Stuff like that.
