Any suggestions for a California resident going to a BU interview. It is basically my 1st choice because I have good friends/family in Boston and I really want it to go well. I am just a little concerned because I heard they have a Cali bias, and they have a lower interview:acceptance ratio... Thanks🙂

Tell them that. That's it's your first choice, you love Boston for the history/culture, and people you know here. they want to know people are serious about moving out here.

I suspect most of the biases you read about on this board are bunk -- based on one person's bad experience and then extrapolated into widescale geographicly based discrimination. Just talk about the Pats -- that's all Boston is talking about this week.

But they never stop talking about the red sox either! Interview is very low key, conversational. If you realy like BU, make sure to let them know that. They accept a good amount of people, so your chances are good unless you are completely introverted. Good luck!

I was just at an interview there and they said that their largest represented state is Cali, so I think that gossip is crap.
