I jus got a letter frm BU that they have recieved my online application...and they will decide whether i should get an interview call or not .

Just want to have a ray of hope!!!!!!! I am seeing that few colleges have started sending in acceptance letters, so have any students who have finished with the interview in boston have got an acceptance letter. What do u think are the chances of the students who have scored less than the minimum cut off?

Can we hope for any kind of miracle!!!!!! or are there many students with 85 and above still waiting for the interview call?

Any positive answers will be really relieving??. thanks

I just came back from BU interview(which is my 1st interview in a US dental school).I 'll try 2 write about it with some detales .

We were 11 candidates(2males+9 females) from the following contries:


-India:8/(1m+7f)
-Colombia : 1/f
-Romania : 1/f
-Syria : me/m

I had the least part-1 score=85,and the highest was 93(ofcourse indian female)

I was the 1st on the name's list by alphabetical order.I was interviewed by Dr.Nargess Ashayerii 4 about 20-25 minutes.She was so sweet and nice during the whole day.My questions were:
-Tell me about yourself & experience.
-Tell me about your family.
-Hobbies.
-Did you apply 2 other universities.
-she also asked me if I applied 2 schools in Canada.

By the way we were told that there will be 65 seats only4 this year(the 90 seats thing was just a rumor)

We were also told that 1/3 of the seates were already taken.Thay also told us that 2 weeks ago they had 12 Indian females only........so I really understood how competitive it is among you girles.
We were also told NOT 2 here from them befor the end of January.......so I have nothing 2 do rather than crossing fingeres, praying 4 God's grace,and.............................a more important than that a MERACLE,coz I do not think that I stand in a good position with my 85 part-1.

Important advice VIP:
Traffic in Boston is more than crazy.we finished everything by 3:00pm,and the school is located in the downtown .........it took me till 4:00pm 2 get a cap although I switched my position between different streets,and 30 minutes 2 get back 2 the motel.I missed my trip by bus back 2 Canada at 5:00pm......so I had 2 take the next one at 8:45pm.The return trip was simply a NIGHTMARE.I arrived 2 Montreal the next day ,Friday at 7:00am.

MORE IMPORTANT THAN THAT DO NOT FORGET YOUR AMBRELLA AS I DID,COZ I WAS REALLY PISSED OFF.

What I liked the most about the interview?????????????

I told her that I applied 2 NYU & UPENN,but I did not understand ??why did you say that we may get a minus mark???.

regarding my UPENN interview,and just 2 let you know that it is not about ethnic diversity issue.........I have 5 Syrian friends 2 of them with part-1 of 89.They were ALL interviewd and ALL rejected in 2001&2001.

They told me" Do not even think about UPENN"

Frankly you stand a good chance of getting accepted just for the fact that you are not from India.

Stating that you applied elsewhere does not in anyway affect your chances during an interview.


If you did well in your interview you stand a good chance of getting accepted, keep your hopes up.

great message. it will really help people like us who have their interviews sometime later. so how is Dr Ashayeri to talk to? how is Bu as a school? did they show you'll around the school. i have heard their simulation lab is fntastic. All the best for the results. i hope you get in. dont worry too much about the scores. it matters a lot how well you do your interview and i am pretty sure it must have gone well.
thanks bout the tip abt boston. i was planning to book a hotel close to school. do you have any idea how long it would take to go to the airport in the evening?

well BU seems 2 be a good school ,but I can't tell you till I see NYU&UPENN.In all cases they are definatly faaaaaaaaaaar....ahead beter than what we had in Syria .
wait till you go and you can decide.

Sure they took us 4 a tour arround the school . Come on man !!!did you read thier invitation letter or not???the interview discription is listed in it.Thanks 4 your wishes man ,I wish you also all the luck in your interview.

How come you did not get your invitation letter from UPENN yet???I already got it yesterday.anyhow.........do not worry it is only the mail delay.Nothing yet 4 me from NYU.

I was living in Boston for some time...
The airport is 30 mins from dental school depending on traffic it can take longer coz traffic in boston is crazy..
try to get in time for the interview for the same reason..

If you have interview in BU. you can use Public transportation from the Airport. Use this link for the maps

http://www.mbta.com/traveling_t/schedules_subway.asp

Blue line touches Airport so take blue line and at State Get into orange line and get down at Mass Avenue and take bus CT1 or else take a cab and it will be $7 with tip. You can take a hotel in the Airport so that it will be easy for you to commute.

Any one comming to BOS this will be easy and fast way to avoid the crazy traffic. When you are booking your hotel there web site that you can get hotel rooms to

For Interviews it is always advisable to be an hour before. So that you can relax and wont be nervous.
