I was thinking something similar. For the people who got the call - did you feel like you and your interviewer made a stronger than normal connection (one that would merit a personal phone call, say)?

I didn't feel like I made that strong of a connection with my interviewer...in fact, this was my first interview and I was pretty nervous for it so I wasn't sure until I got the call that I had a great chance of getting in...I feel like I had other better interviews than at BU. Still, I wrote a letter of interest in december and I had another letter of recommendation sent at end of december. I'm also a MA resident. However, when I interviewed there, I definitely felt like this school is very personal, which is great.

I would wait a couple more days, but then I don't see a problem with e-mailing the interviewer...thats why they gave you their card.
 
Eagle, first of all congrats! secondly, when you wrote your letter of interest, did you email it, snail mail it, or just upload it onto your bu status account page?

I uploaded it through the message system on the BU status page.
 
So I guess all the acceptance calls have gone out already?
 
It seems that most people have forgotten that they are only accepting 1/3 of the class now and the other 2/3 later....Chances are most of us will not be getting the acceptance now and will have to choose whether or not we want to wait until March to find out...

I think we all do remember that, but we're just a little impatient 😀
 
has anyone actually received the snail mail letter yet? or has it just been acceptance phone calls so far?

No mail for me today from BU. Anyone else have any luck?
 
No luck here either. I really wanted to get into BU too. 🙁
 
Well, I don't think the we haven't gotten in. It's just that we didn't necessarily have one of the extra nice interviewers who made that pre-emptive call. At least, that is what I am telling myself as I cry in my coffee.

Just got the call from my interviewer!!! He said the admissions office gives the contact information to the interviewers, and its up to them whether to call, but most do. just wanted to let ya'll know.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! AHHHHHHHH, SO EXCITED!!!!!!!! :laugh::laugh::laugh:

i think i'm going to email my interviewer..... the wait is unbearable
 
you'd think with all the effort it takes to tell each interviewer they can call the accepted applicants AND send a snail mail to the accepted applicants, they would have saved so much time just emailing all the people who got accepted.
 
hey does someone want to call the school just to find out when letters went out and when it will be posted????

my interviewer said that my letter went in the mail yesterday. not sure if they send them all out in one batch or what.
 
just received an update through email.....got deferred to march. at least its not a rejection right?
 
Just got an email from them: "We have deferred a final disposition until March."

BOO.

Edit: by the way, do you think I should treat this as a waitlist? (ie send a LOI, etc)
 
ARRGGHHH!!! I just got the same "deferred until March" statement on my status page. This is my second waitlist with no acceptances. I wanna go drink lots of beer tonight.

At least they're early, right?

Yeah... 🙁 "It is with great regret that I inform you that we will be unable to offer you a seat in the class entering in August of 2008." Disappointing - I really felt like I clicked with my interviewer and generally enjoyed the day at BU.

Congrats to all those accepted.. and to the deferrals, keep faith. This is still very early for BU.

Sorry to hear that Pluripotent. With your great stats and EC's you are bound to get in to a school you interviewed at. I know you're pulling for UCSF! I just got put on the "Deferred until March" list by BU...
 
If you don't mind posting, how many of you sent LOIs and still got deferred or rejected?
 
i didn't send anything, got rejected
 
i sent a loi and got deferred
 
Thank you for your responses guys 🙂 I sent in an LOI ( kind of combined with thank you note after the interview) and got deferred.

What do you think it means if I didn't get a phone call from my interviewer OR a rejection/deferral email? Does that mean I could have gotten accepted and my interviewer just didn't choose to call?? 😕

If your status page still says "under consideration..." then I think you've been accepted. I'm not sure though.

It still says "Your application is now under consideration by the Committee on Admissions."

Too bad the mail system where I live sucks so it'll take forever till I find out what's up...
 
deferred today after sending 1 LOI. will probably send another in next few weeks.

There are 60 accepted this round, 540 are either deferred or rejected. I imagine that half are deferred and half are rejected but I can't say for sure. 400 are interviewed from January until March then most of the class is accepted in March. Good luck guys! i hope you're my classmates next year!!

i also have no change or any phone calls.
