BU mams vs. RFU bms

Hey, I was wondering if you guys could tell me which would be a better program for me. I have got into BU mams, but I have sent in my application for RFU.

1. I want to get into ANY allopathic medical school... if I apply simply with my current stats, I don't think I'd have a chance at allo
2. RFU is a linkage program, BU is not
3. BU is more widely recognized
4. Both can be done in one year but RFU gives you the chance to matriculate into their Fall 2011 class.

It seems like RFU would be the better program for me but it seems that the BU program ranks higher among this board.

If you don't mind going to RFU for med school then go to RFU. If you do, go to BU, simple as that.

we really can't answer this, because we are not you.
if there was one that was simply better for everyone, then the other might not even exist. name a specific goal (what, when, where) and then whichever one gets you to that point, at that time, in that place... is where you go. if they both do, find the one that does it faster, cheaper, or where you are happier. use logic

I think you already answered this question... Out of 1-4, which is most important to you? I would go with that... If time is of the utmost importance, then go to RFU and try to get in their 2011 acceptance class. If you want a shot at more Allopathic schools, I think people agree BU is a bit more well known so it might be the better choice.

I did the BU MAMS program this year because I wanted to go back to school in my home state. But, honestly, after doing it, I think I almost wish I had done a program like RFU, because of the linkage. I knew it wasn't going to guarantee I'd get into my state school, but I just wanted a higher chance. In the end though, I want to become a doctor, and the sooner the better. Smaller SMP programs are more of a "guarantee" you'll get into an allopathic school because you just matriculate into their own medical school. Programs like BU and Georgetown are for if you want to apply to a wider variety of schools, since they are more well known programs. But, if you just want to go to a medical school, look into a smaller program.
