BU is cheaper than UNLV. Both are great schools. BU has name, UNLV has technology.

unlv hands down. bu is too cold. nevada is closer, more laid back

Are you kidding me? If you go to UNLV out of state, you pay out of state tuition for the first year, and in state for the last 3 years. With all expenses included (instruments, housing, food, computer, transportation, etc.) UNLV is right around $230,000 for out of state. BU is $300,000 for all 4 years. We're both going to UNLV, so you should refer to the sheet they gave you before you say that UNLV costs more than going to a private school, in one of the most expensive cities in the U.S.
P.S. I referred to my ADEA book for the prices, which is the direct source.

please pick UNLV...

i am waiting for BU:(

but seriuosly, I would pick UNLV, if I could--nice weather!, great facilities, intimate smaller class, tuition less, its in VEGAS! just me.

In no way is BU Cheaper.. and UNLV is all new and has a smaller class. No brainer I think.

UNLV will be cheaper AND you'lll get more bang for your buck in terms of housing, etc. That being said, Boston is a cool city. If you have a family I would for sure lean towards UNLV.

BU, the school is established. UNLV is still a new school, no real credibility

Credibility? Its accredidation is all the credibility it needs.. Nation wide the UNLV name is more recognized, especially when it comes to medical education and research. A new School means new facilities which goes a long way when it comes do dental schools.

BU Dental school is in an isolated not-so-great area in Boston. but it still is a city. one thing i didnt like about UNLV was that i wasnt in a real city.. Still i think you should choose a school and not a city.. UNLV all the way..

when did you interview?

oh yeah, --given the chance I'd pick UNLV. But they turned me down =(

Weather +
Location +
Pretty pretty brand new facilities +++

I stand corrected, UNLV wins tuition, location and technology wise.

BU for sure because it is a stablished school and no "major unexpected things" happen there.
UNLV is only 5 years old.
also if you want to specialize, one thing you want to put on your C.V. for residency programs is your research experience in dental school. there are plenty of research opp. at Boston but UNLV might have only one or two ongoing research which you can join.
UNLV building sucks! they dont even have a cafeteria! there is a huge construction thing going on and there is always noise and distraction...
Boston is cold. I know. but think of what city has to offer you in terms of resources. UNLV on the other hand has casinos and blackjacks!! you come out as an alcoholic DDS or half million $ in dept... J/K
good luck with your decision

Just so you know, the advanced specialty building will be done this summer. So no more construction. See for yourself...

I dont know about BU being more "stablished", i do know that it has a reputation for being the third worse dental school in Boston for sure..

and are you serious about the UNLV building? have you ever walked through BU's building? its like a dungeon..

all i remember is that they stay in one room the entire day at UNLV. elementary school all over again

when is the deadline to decide???

That is true.. they do stay in one room at UNLV.. same at BU and many other schools though..

When they told me that at UNLV I thought it was a good thing.. Why move around when we all have exactly the same schedule? I do believe they give you breaks between classes..
