I have been accepted at BU and USC for 2010 batch.

We are in NJ and Boston seems to be wise choice, but i have been told USC program is good as well.

could u all help me decide ...
Thanks.

Go to BU. USC is not in a good place right now. Last year (2007), less than 20% of their senior class graduated on time (and no, I'm not kidding).

Good Luck.

thank u nile bds..i have heard there is a lot of clinical exposure in usc..

Could someone clarify on this..

I have heard that although there is less than 100% pass / graduation rate in USC, everyone would pass in another 2-3 months. So is that true, that though some graduate from USC in May, everyone else would graduate by July or August? I understand that pass % is low but low long might it be before I graduate..

congratulation on your acceptance. I'm an international gradute who attended USC and graduated 2006. To me USC was the best place to get experience and it's specially good for us with our background.
Let me tell you about that 20% who graduated on time, It all depends on you. I graduated on time since I was working hard and not wasting my time. one of the other reasons is that the requirements at USC are almost 4-5 times of the other schools which I think it makes it a unique place to get experience and honestly I've heard some people would rather hire USC graduates because of their better hand skills.

P.S. I applied this year for specialty this year after almost 1 year of work experience and got matched.

I highly recommend USC plus I havn't been to other schools!!!!

I would gladly answer any further question you might have.

Hiii Milky2th,
I am glad to read this, I have been accepted to USC for Class 2010 but didnt hear anything gud abt the school. That gives a rush of excitment.
Thanx

the thing gud about usc is weather, where as in bu the program is better yhan usc and have a better graduation rate, so you have to choose between gud weather and gud academics
given a choice majority of the people move to other schools other than usc.

Hello Milky2th,

I've been accepted at USC 2010 and have heard some rave reviews regarding the course (one of the dentists I worked with earlier recommended USC as a place to be to get hands on experience). One question I have for you is regarding the Housing around USC. I've been advised by many folks that the neighborhood is pretty bad and not to stay around USC. Any suggestions or feedback is requested. I am also looking to stay a little bit further west of USC and worried about the commute. Please do let me know as this would be very very helpful regarding the housing/accomodation and also the commute as I am pretty new to California.

Regards.

Congratulations to all of you accepted to USC/BU or for that matter any other school. It is a great feeling to be at the top of the hill...but then the realisation hits you that there are quite a few other hills beyond that need to be crossed before you get to where you want to be.
I have read the reviews above regarding USC. Being a graduate of USC myself, I would very very much recommend the ASPID program. But BEWARE!!! if you are just looking for a cool walk through the clouds...USC is definitely not the place...not to say that other schools are easy...but the fact that the students at USC are held to very high standards and in order to be the BEST..you got to beat all odds and work the daylights outta your heads!!! That being said I can only speak for USC...
Coming to the point about seniors not graduating on time, I must agree that that has been an issue. I however disagree with the belief that graduating on time reflects quality..I would also disagree when it is said that the students who worked hard were the only ones who could graduate on time. I cannot speak for everyone but there are times when some students worked hard all through their course but something went wrong somewhere with either pt co-operation or just plain bad luck. The graduation requirements are much higher at USC than many other schools (which I would prefer not to mention) and students get out with lot more confidence and experience which I believe is more important.USC has had almost 98-100% pass rate in the boards (WREB). That goes to say that the graduating class is well trained to hit the ground running.I agree with milky2th when he says that many people would rather hire USC graduates as they have good clinical skills.I personally graduated about a month later than my fellow classmen and to be very very honest...what felt depressing at that point of time does not matter anymore. I have been working as an associate for a few months now...and trust me..It feels great to have been a part of the school. If I had to do it all over again...I DEFINITELY WOULD!👍
Good luck with all the tough choices...:luck:.
