BU with no Research Expierence?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Wouldn't BU be considered mid-tier?

A friend of mine got in there with no research but he's a non-trad with a lot of other things going for him, and probably demolished the MCAT.

BU isn't quite a top research school, so they probably won't have a heavy emphasis on research, as long as you have significant other accomplishments in your application.

that's encouraging. It's 29th on USA news, but says "A leader in medical education and research, Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) provides an exceptional educational environment for students interested in careers as physicians or scientists exploring basic science, clinical investigation, or public health- and health services-oriented research." on the site and in the mission statement.

So maybe they're a wannabe?
