I am withdrawing my app from buffalo, but the invite says you will have ten minutes to write about a topic.

I hear they analyze your handwriting to determine your personality. j/k

uhmmm...essay. Wonder what I will write. Being a non science major, I'm looking forward to write it though 😀

It's really not that big of a deal. They just have you write a couple of paragraphs. Of course, I didn't get in last year, so maybe the handwriting analyst was able to discover what a procrastinator I am.🙂

I kind of like the idea...no other place I interviewed at bothered to assess writing skills like that, and Buffalo actually asked lots of challening (but effective) interview questions. Remember, you should be evaluating the interview as much as they're analyzing you.

I'm sorry, I was unclear; I meant that the questions during the actual interview were more challenging than at other schools, but in a good way. (For instance, no other school had brought up that'd I'd only really observed 1 generalist...they asked how I knew that it wasn't a unique office and that others wouldn't be entirely different. Which is a good point!)

The writing question is usually very easy, since they don't want to trip you up with the question; they're just evaluating your writing skills and your ability to organize your thoughts. I don't know...usually something general like "what did your observing teach you?" or "why yo mama so fat?" etc. etc. 😉

Honestly, it's not a problem. Hey, at least you get pizza and wings for lunch!!!

Oh, make sure they show you the medical history museum in the basement of the library during your tour....SO cool! 👍 👍

Don't listen to him, fellas. He's still bitter from when I had my interview directly after his. They told me "at least you'll be better than the raging imbecile that was just here" and I was all "dude, accept him anyway so that I always look excellent compared to him lolz" and they were all *high five*

do you take gross anatomy with the med students at UB?

It changes throughout the semester. So far, our lectures are together and our labs are seperate. However, for the first block they do the legs and we do more head and neck. Third block we'll JUST be head and neck and they will do other things. So I think as the semester goes on we divide more? (If lecture isn't on a part you're doing, you just don't go and sleep the morning away..mmmm). For histology, we have half our lectures with them and half on our own. Those are the only two courses we have mixed.
