Hi..I had sent my application a week back...Have not got any confirmation from them though...
 
I have sent application through CAAPID to both Buffelo and NYU and Bu as well ..only rcvd ack from BU.. no news yet from other 2 🙁
 
Does anybody know that buffalow university sponser student VISA or they want green card / citizenship only??? I wrote an email to them but they didn't answer me. However, they answered my other queries regarding NBDE score reports & Toefl. So, i am kind of confused about the student VISA sponsership.............Does anybody have any idea???
 
Has anybody received application complete mail from Buffalo? I sent it last month but still didn't get any reply from them.

so did u send toefl n nbde score reports directly to the institution? also they say min 83 for part 1 ,,can v still apply if i have 82 as part 1 score ?

If everybody who is not US citizen or PR holder need to give financial form along with other application material? And if it should be of student itself or from any family member?

You can send them NBDE reports sealed envelops by yourself but not the toefl. Toefl reports must be sent directly by ETS. I have no clue about your second query. you can email them and ask about it.

i too applied late aug but havent heard anything so far.
the financial form is still not available, the dead line being oct 15.
guess the candidates vth citizen ship and green cards gonna have more chances... looosing hope day by day .

I called them today regarding the Financial Form.
They said it would be available HOPEFULLY by next week and applicants who have applied will be informed about it.
Fingers Crossed!!😕
 
I applied in August but didn't receive anything after that. I am worrying about my TOEFL score if they have it or not as I ordered it earlier even before they started application cycle.I called them today and they are saying they are working on applications and will send application status within a couple of WEEKS!! 😕
What to do??
 
within 2 weeks...that means almost near d deadline...
should permanent residents also submit financial form(wenevr it gets available)???

I dont think so coz they have clearly mentioned that the form is for those applicants who are not US citizens or Permanent residents.

yes, and then in the 3rd page of the form they ask:- are u U.S. permanent resident?
why r they asking such a question when only non us citizen and p.r.'s are supposed to fill this form.

Just ignore it.They are really facing some problems with the application process. By the way their tuition fee and bench test fee is so high😱

I think their tuition is the highest in the world. I have not seen any 2 year Program that charges so much. They have overtaken UoP in terms of tuition. It may be justified for UoP which is a much better school but certainly not for Buffalo who dont even have any sense of the admission process. Also, the bench exam is the toughest of all the schools. I think if they expect you to do almost 8-9 preparations in a bench test, they should directly give you a license to practice dentistry. This is just crazy. I dont think this Program will go anywhere like this.

You are right, Buffalo dental school was not so expensive before but now fees look like that they are in deep recession period and they are milking money from students. Also, they are asking lots of thing for bench test.
 
it seems like v r going to practice on gold teeth in that university 😱.... I think they are starting this program new so they have no idea about the financial capability of students applying to the program ...

Please remember dental school admissions committee that " International Dentist who join for this type of programs are overcoming through lots obstacles and financial restraints 😡..... Think 😕 before hiking the fees to this exponential level .... Our families they dont own the oil wells 🙁.... Plz kindly consider students financial and mental pressure .😕..."

Hope some sensible person in ADA or school representatives read this thread !!!!:scared:

One more important point "International Dentist has higher rate of success and are very hard working - these people need good dentist from foreign countries bcos they can not produce enough here" !!!🙂

Dear Parking2008,
I as well as any other foreign trained dentist understand your frustration.But at the same time we should thank this country for giving us an opportunity to study here. We might be good and hardworking,but that doesn't mean that there are no good dentists here.Of course all who are graduate here are well qualified and efficient enough after undergoing intense training and passing exams.So we are no one to judge.
Remember :-it is a privilege to study here,not a right.So think of the good side--what we can earn after all this hard work! Apply to different schools and be positive.Good Luck!!👍
 
I agree with Parking 2008 and dentluv, but would like to add that schools should be considerate enough to let us know about the fee structure well in advance so we can make sensible decision whether to apply or not. I applied to school and considering not to go any further with their admission process as their fee is sky high.....
We all dentist of foreign origin had to do schooling again, in my opinion there should be system like medical residencies only and there should be only one centralized system to evaluate candidate efficiency, not that every school taking their own bench, this just add to frustrations...
 
I dont know why anyone would want to go to a school named after a cow anyways.. this is stupid. I have left a country full of buffalos.. not to pay more monies to meet more buffalos.. although they are good in nutritious milk.. I think this school is having only management quota...you have money and you get in.
 
I completely agree. First off we are paying all the monies we have for the tuitens. I dun undastand wuts gng on. They shud gve discount to thse who do well in nat boards part 1.. wut say guyz?

I regret for applying to Buffalo.
I have sent all my documents almost a month ago and they say they haven't received my documents.
I requested ada to sent my nbde score report(1/2) and now buffalo people are saying they have received my official part1 and there is no part2. Dont you people think this is funny, as ada reports both part1/2 in a single piece of paper.
I am in a big confusion now whether to send my documents again or not.

Same here, please suggest what to do?

It gives a lot of botheration and costs extra to candidates applying to your university

Its v international dentist who have increased the demand for these dental schools who are taking advantage of our need. Need and demand should always be equally balanced :scared:.

Second thing, these dental schools need some kind of federal regulation on their tuition fees. Have nyone of u concentrated on the small notes written on tuition fees page saying that, "they can increase the tuition fees anytime without any notice"....😱..... This means they are so privatized that they havent allowed any government body to regulate their system.

These schools they know that FTD's voice is so meagre 🙁 that even if all FTDs raise their voice ....its not going to be enough to change their system.

The worst and nonsense system I have seen in my life is CAAPID application. The system in itself reveals that its structured to make money. What in the world makes sense to have a "centralized" application and then have apply to each school individually 😕. It seems like all schools have agreed together to riff off international student's bank balance :idea:.

Have anybody looked at the statistical data of incoming students every year in dental schools. Have you ever questioned why europeans are the least among FTD's in paying these exponentially high fees????👎

All FTDs need to open their eyes and think out of the box ..........PLZ dont blindly agree to what these schools say !!!! Remember u r paying more than $200000 .... remind urself what does that mean in ur country ... and ask them these questions .... MAKE THEM THINK TWICE !!!! 🙄

are u kidding me? lol. why do we have to pay these fees? are u seriously complaining? who cares what that much money means in ur country.. your not in your country.. your in another country getting a loan.. are u also gonna complain when u start getting paid 200k a year too? if they made it nice and cheap and let everyone of you in the program to become a dentist you think u would be getting paid the same? and there is a demand .. thats why ur here willing to pay.. cause afterwards you know its worth it.. so stop crying .. seriously.. this is the easy life.. these arnt hardships that ur going through.. go try and complain..who u gunna complain to and about what? the system is fine.. why dont u complain and get them to stop taking foreign dentists all together.. that should be fun right.. then you could count your money u saved in your own country..u dont like it.. dont do it.. no1 is forcing u to..

Dear International Dentist Program Applicant:

The School of Dental Medicine has recently been made aware of an unusual delay in our receipt of official TOEFL score reports for some IDP candidates. Since the delivery of the official score reports is not something that applicants can control, we are modifying our requirement.

IDP candidates may submit a photocopy of their TOEFL score report in lieu of an official score report at this time. Photocopies must be received by the application deadline of October 15, 2010. We are currently updating candidates’ checklists to inform you if we have an unofficial TOEFL score on file for you.

Candidates who are offered acceptance into the IDP program will be required to submit an official TOEFL score report if they have not already done so.

The deadline to submit all other application materials remains October 15, 2010. We look forward to reviewing your application.
