I'm wasting a lot of time making this decision so I thought I'd poll SDN.

Bullet Points or Paragraphs on the Work/Activities Section

Thanks for participating 😀

EDIT: I want to do bullet points because I think it it's easier to read [also easier to write/organize on my part] if I were reviewing applicants for a job I'd prefer bullet points. But I'm not an Adcom.

You have to go with what you're most comfortable with. There are pros and cons to both styles. You won't be able to please all the adcoms since some prefer one style and others prefer another style. Go with the style where you would be able to make a convincing argument on your motivation to medicine.

paragraphs preceded by bullet points.

I really wanted to do this ^

I was thinking of formatting it exactly like this:

SUMMARY:
- BLAH BLAH BLAH
- BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH
- BLAH BLAH YADDA YADDA YADDA

DESCRIPTION:
Working as a blah blah blah... (paragraph continues)

--------------------

Any thoughts on the format above?

I hope LizzyM sees this thread. I know she likes bullet points, but I want my application to satisfy everyone lol

I thought I had seen it all. Is it my imagination or are the SDNers getting more neurotic and weirder every year?

Dude.

i tried all three and ended up doing short paragraphs.

paragraphs preceded by bullet points.

I chose this format. Example:

Detailed Contact Info:
-----
-----
-----

-Date, position, total hours.

Paragraph extrapolating on the bullet point.

I'm glad you mentioned this. I didn't even notice that there wasn't a Contact Info Box; just a contact name/title box. Strange

I didn't want to leave any empty spaces so I filled the extra space with periods.

I really want to be a doctor...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

I went with bullets. I figured that if I had explained everything in detail, I'd wind up repeating myself a lot on the interview trail. Either way, you can't please everyone.
