Wellbutrin can be effective for patients with ADHD symptoms and concentration difficulties, with comorbid depression. Depending on the degree of anxiety, you may need to cover it with something else i.e. a benzodiazepine. It's more complicated than this, but if your goal is to relieve some ADHD symptoms without a stimulant (it will increase the anxiety), bupropion is a reasonable choice. Then again, if you choose an SSRI, you run the risk of exacerbating the anxiety with SSRI side effects, including sleep disturbance, initial worsening anxiety, sexual dysfunction, or weight gain.

You're talking about a person with a triple diagnosis, in sorts. Depression, attention deficit, and anxiety. You'd have to weigh the relative weights of each component, and look closely at the neuropsychiatric aspects of tacking an ADHD diagnosis on someone with these concomitant diagnoses.

You can also add an SSRI for anxiety in the longer term. This was discussed in another thread. Of course, doing this runs you the risk of activating a bipolar into a III state.

Nothing I have seen points to wellbutrin as a treatment for anxiety. From my clinical experience, it tended to cause akithesia or anxiety the most out of the antidepressants I have used.

As above, several studies point to wellbutrin as having benefits to ADHD and depression. I do not know of any benefits to anxiety if any, and Kaplan & Sadock never mention it having any anxiety benefits.

There are studies showing effexor as having benefits to ADHD, depression and anxiety. If you want to do a triple axis attack using 1 med, I suggest effexor first.
