This gives me a bit of an impression of how hard med school will be... take a breath if you can and good luck everyone!

Burnt out! Help!

I have been studying for step 1 since after new years and have not been happy with my recent nbme scores 205, 209, 207 on 17,18,19 (taken within the last 3 weeks). my exam was originally on march 16th but i pushed it back to the 23rd. i had taken one back in february 5th: nbme 15th and got a 230 which has been my highest one.
now i have 15 days to study. was this a mistake?

What's your strategy been and how's UWorld going?

UWorld is going well. I'm going over all my incorrects (a little over 800 of them) and i'm answering most of them right. however, i won't be able to get through all of them in time i think (9 more study days left) I'm finishing up the last ~150 pages of first aid and plan on going over it again about 5 days before my exam next Thursday. I've also been re-watching pathoma and sketchy in between all of this. I won't be able to go through all of UWorld a second time and I'm afraid that will be to my disadvantage.

However, I am back at it after taking about a day and half off after my last post which helped. So there's that..

You gonna take 16 soon?

I have taken every single one except that one with #15 being my highest. I wasn't planning on taking anymore since the more recent ones have been more discouraging. Should I? I have 8 more days left...
I guess it's hard to say without knowing more about your circumstances. Are you an MD/DO/IMG student? Is your current date the absolute deadline? How are you doing with UFAP?
I ask because with "205, 209, 207" as your most recent NBMEs, you have no idea if you've actually progressed. Are you ok with just a passing score and likely going into a non-competitive field? God forbid, can you risk failing?

Of course.
US citizen, FMG from SGU MD. UFAP = better now that I pushed it back. Been able to thoroughly go through FA and pretty much do pathoma again and again as well as sketchy. I'll also go over FA again.
Always been interested in Family med.

So you're still set for the 23rd? Others can chime in, but I would take NBME 16 to see how your progress has come along. As an FMG, a score of 205-210 may be tough to overcome even for FM. But I'm a US DO student so others who know better can probably offer more focused advice.

Hey back,

I took NBME 16 and even though I thought it was one of the easier ones I scored only a 217. My exam is in 3 days. Not sure what to think.

I also liked NBME 16, got a 225 on it on 3/5/17 and took 17 two days ago and got 223. Test in 1 week, we are basically in the same boat.
