Flying can be somewhat expensive for interviews. I am considering to perhaps take the bus instead. Anyone know of any good/effective buses that depart from NYC area to nearby cities/states?
For example, I have an interview at Boston University. Which busline is recommended to take from NYC to Boston? Thanks a lot 🙂

I use the "Lucky Star" bus service. Only cost me $15 to get there. It departs from some place near Grand Street, Manhattan. Also, free wifi 😀

i second the bolt bus recommendation! i've been using them to go from Boston to my NYC interviews. the big plus is that they have outlets at every seat so if you need to take your laptop to get some work done, it's super easy.

Wow, that's cheaper than driving your own car up there; and you actually get to surf on the net for free while sitting in the coach?

What about Amtrak?
Which is better? boltbus or megabus?
Is the bus roomy? Do you have room on the bus for your legs and stuff?

its probably cheaper to fly then take amtrak. a bus is a bus is a bus. I only know about bolt. they are nicer than local buses, they have bathrooms and internet. my friend got her suitcase stolen at one of the stops before she got off. if you can afford it amtrak is the best option, larger seats, you can move around and its generally more comfortable. amtrak will run about $50 buck each way and take you 4.25 hours. :luck:

why would amtrak be more expensive than flying?

My question is, why would AMTRAK be more expensive than FLYING
isnt amtrak longer than flying? flying is easier

Why should we know/why does it matter? Go ahead and fly then. Or just take a bus like you asked.

jet blue from jfk to boston is pretty cheap, but then you have to get to and from the airports and possibly pay for parking if you dont have a ride. also it ends up taking about the same amount of time as the train and you dont have to hassle with security and all that stuff. when you get to your destination you are in the city center.

rent a car for $100 dollars you will save your self a lot of money instead of traveling in the bus. traveling in the bus will at least cost you close to 100 but without the convince. its <100 miles probably check it... on google maps

And she is on her 3rd account (Marymatthews->beautiful1->ashley). Feeding is so fun though. 🙁
