Look at the type of questions you are getting wrong..and target the respective subjects. Its easy to pick up your weaknesses when you blank out on questions that test you on drugs (pharm), pathogens (micro), mechanisms (biochem), slides, buzz words (path), Na/K pumps (physio), hormones (endo)...just review the pertinent material harder, good luck!

It's hard to give you advice when you don't tell us what you're currently doing.

looking at the questions i missed on UW#2 assessment, there were many problems which FA & UW qbank did not cover, and therefore i was basically 'random-guessing'. 2 wks ago, the same thing happened and i was hoping more FA+UW will help in this regard. but it seems like this approach did not work.

it is too late to go back and change my study schedule at this point, but in hindsight, what else could i have utilized to familiarize myself for these questions that test on things i've never seen?? for ex.. olanzapine causes the most weight gain as a SE out of the atypicals..?

See drugs are always going to get you if you simply rely on FA but then again i don't suggest you reading up on a whole pharmacology txt. Look at it this way..if you would have annotated from outside pharm sources into FA it probably would have made it a lil easier. However, i think on the real one pharm won't be as bad as you may think..so at this point don't sweat it! You should also cut down on reading FA so many times..instead read RR, or other review books you like. I don't see FA to be helpful unless you have mastered other review books first...also UWorld is considered harder than the real one, you should be ok!

I would add BRS Path (or RR Path if you prefer) and BRS Phys. FA is good for a quick review and a framework for guiding your study, but if you aren't improving that should be a really good sign that FA is not enough. Depending on where you want to be and where you are, you might want to add more than those 2 books, but they are a good place to start.

Questions are great, but it's pretty easy to just click through and not really learn from your mistakes. You have to really spend time reviewing the explanations. Don't expect questions to cover everything. You'll need review books to fill in the holes and really bring the concepts together for each organ system.
