Buying AAMC Practice Tests for MCAT 2015?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
The practice test currently on the site is 25$ and a second one is coming soon. TOTALLY worth it in my opinion considering it's the only resource "straight out of the horse's" mouth so-to-speak and the AAMC practice exams seemed to be abundantly useful to the old test takers.

I'm not the best standardized test taker so being familiar with the format is half the battle for me personally.

What about the old ones (sorry I didn't specify), I know the new ones are going to be worth it. But paying over $200 for the old tests is kind of expensive if they won't be beneficial.

Ahh ok I understand now. Well I personally don't think it's worth it. The exams, for me at least, are to become familiar with the format/testing experience and check what your deficits are. Since the content is different and the old content is being tested in a different way (allegedly) then I don't know what I could gain from getting a question wrong on the old MCAT. Maybe that topic is on the new one, maybe it's not, maybe it is but wouldn't be presented in the same way. I think I would rather just use the practice exams and the ones provided by the review books.

This won't perfectly simulate the new exam, but I have 3 CARS, 3 behavioral sciences, and 3 biochemistry exams that came with my Kaplan set. I will be adding those on to old AAMC exams to make a pseudo-practice 2015 exam.

I was reading about the practice test on AAMC website, and it says you're allowed to take it 20 times per subscription. Is it going to be a new set of questions each time you take it? Or does everyone get the same questions?

I can't imagine it being very helpful after the first attempt because you'd already know the answers...

Use the old verbal exams. the other subjects will help you with content review and applying it. I think it's worth it

I'm going to give them a shot, compared to what I've paid for undergrad tuition $200 is just another drop in the bucket lol.

Worth it, absolutely. And take them under test conditions whenever you can. Also, buy the question banks. Any time you can get the AAMC material do it.
I would save the new tests for your final reviews. We only had one, and it was the best indicator for readiness.
