Has anyone here had experience buying into an existing pharmacy?
What questions should be asked of the present owner? What are the first
steps to take if seriously considering this option?

Do you know any other existing owners? Do you have any state association meetings coming where you could try to find some other owners to ask questions? I would think NCPA might have some resources as well...?
