First of all, I did a couple of searches on this site and (while there are thousands of threads about pre-reqs) I couldn't find any asking what I am trying to ask. Second, excuse me if my grammar in the thread title is terrible (couldn't decide between "when should pre-reqs be completed by?" and "by when should pre-reqs be completed?").
Anyways, I am just finishing up my sophomore year. The pre-reqs I have remaining are:
- Organic I
- Organic II
- Physics II
- Microbiology
- Biochemistry
Physics II, Micro, Biochem, and Organic I will all be taken next year (meaning I will be done with them by the end of my junior year). Is it acceptable to take Organic II as a senior? Will this interfere with the application/MCAT process?
I realize that schools don't require all pre-reqs to be complete, but I am just wondering about the logistics of this since Organic is such a crucial part of the MCAT. Do most people apply in the fall of their senior year? Take the MCAT late junior year/early senior year?
I guess I am basically asking for the "typical" timeline of (a) pre-reqs, (b) MCAT, and (c) application. Thanks.
