So, one of the schools that I have decided to apply to (after a very favorable e-mail from my POI) is BYU's Clinical PhD program. I know it has a little blurb on the site about how it's a primarily LDS-based school, but accepts a diverse population of students, etc., but the fact of it is that the demographic is predominantly Mormon. It also talks about how they expect us to abide by their values, i.e. no drinking, smoking, tea or coffee drinking (Not sure if I can go without tea haha), etc. I'm not worried about any of that though, I'm not worried about the people or anything (though I may find it tougher to connect with others), but what I am worried about is their curriculum. Do they subtly or not so subtly incorporate any religion-based influences in their psych program? That is what I'm a bit uneasy about. So if anyone has any idea about their program, it would be awesome if you could respond! Thanks!

The clinical program does not incorporate religion or spirituality into the curriculum. If you're really against incorporating religious or spiritual issues into psychotherapy, however, you should know that these issues will inevitably come up with some clients at your practicum sites.
