C/B/C+ on College English Courses

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
With 2 C's and still a 3.9+GPA I have to assume the grades are not a reflection of you as a student but the exception. I think most adcoms will quickly realize this but I don't think it would hurt to make mention of English not being your first language in your personal statement. Not to defend your grades but just mentioning it as a struggle you had to overcome.

I think you're fine, especially if you do well in VR.

If I were reviewing your application, assuming you didn't bomb the WS (sure, it's not very useful but a J-L is pretty hard to score) or verbal on the MCAT, I wouldn't count those against you if your personal statement was coherent. At most I'd ask about it in an interview.

Just make sure that if you get an interview that your English is good by then.
