What is the best ED treatment for C-Diff?

One of the medicine residents and critical care attendings at my hospital got C. diff. Several of the nurses have also acquired it. Each had to stay out of work until they tested negative for C. diff.

It just goes to show that even physicians get sick, and it also highlights the importance of us being selective in prescribing antibiotics. (I'm not saying your case wasn't indicated; I'm saying we shouldn't prescribe antibiotics for every sore throat and sniffle that comes through the ED.)

That's awesome. Sort of like how they are starting to prevent UTI in cathed patients by intentionally colonzing the cath with a non-pathogenic organism.
