Can anyone give me a definitive answer to this? If I've already been accepted to a few schools but have subsequently received a grade below C in a chem lab, must I retake to get a C or better, or will the schools accept the below C grade in the lab? Thanks for the help guys.

Schools usually say, a "C or better is required". I would imagine you have to retake it, but call anyways. Labs may be puss, but they're still required courses.

Yeah, check w/the school.....but I can't imagine that one thing would totally discredit your acceptances.

Before you call the school you're interested in attending, call your college and see if the lab grade gets calculated into your GPA. In my school, most labs were P/F, some gave grades. but none were calculated into the GPA. If they are not calculated in, explain that to the schools you're unterested in. That may help them not care as much.

Check with the school...I still got in with a C- in chem lab...not the end of the world

totally depends on the school...listen to this story. I was waitlisted last year at CCOM...was in touch with the admissions office very week, very persistent and when i realized that my spot wouldnt open up, decide to borrow 30 grand and move to naperville to take classes at Midwestern. This year i get accepted, and after they lost the first two acceptance letters for me, they sent me a third one, which i recieved 3 days before my deposit was due, only to find out that i had to retake organic chemistry because i got a 72, instead of a 73!!! Now with all of the money that the admissions counselors get paid one would think that last year when i was deciding what to do before i reapplied...someone would hae stepped up and filled me in!!! Nope instead they took my money and ran...needless to say ive nicely told them to "shove it up their patoot" and im headed to UHS!!!! so...check with the school...and as specific questions...you just never know what they will pull on you!!!!
