Anyone got one? I've never had a c before but have had some extenuating circumstances this semester and lab is the class that unfortunately gets pushed to the side. Should I drop or continue and shoot to bring it up to a B? Not sure if it's possible and don't want to risk it...

I was in your situation once, however I had to drop the course because I could not afford a C on my GPA. I only made 2 C's that are counted towards my overall GPA. In fact, they're probably the dumbest C's ever. One is high school dual credit, and the other is freshman year. Both courses are suppose to be liberal arts blow-off courses.

With that being said, I think the weight all depends on your overall. A few C's will not kill you in terms of admission. Remember, we need C's to pass in dental school.

Goodluck!

I'd like to know as well. I have a C+ in calc 1 that will haunt me forever.
I have C in calculus I. I don't think it is a big deal, but to be honest, I'm debating with myself on whether I should retake it on summer, or just move on to upper level courses.

Wow. Y'all made one C? Why not go change your plan, and become an advisor.

Thanks for those who answered helpfully. I realize one C isn't going to ruin my chances, but it will hurt my GPA obviously. I was simply curious if anyone else was in the same position and whether they decided to stick with the class or drop it.

Goodbye dental school, hello hygiene school….

I had 4 Cs but it didn't prevent me from getting into my top choice.
I think it depends on your ogpa. If you have 3.7+ 1 C wont matter. If you have 3.3/3.4 and C would further decrease your gpa, go with withdrawling. What year are you in? 1 W really doesn't matter. Dschools understand that life happens and sometimes you have to drop the course.

I dropped my course because it will change my GPA from a 3.64 to a 3.55.. and I am a Senior. lol
