"c" in ochem

Will a "C" in first semester ochem really hurt my chances of getting in? I got a 79% but my school doesn't do + / -. I thought i was getting a "B" but my final brought my grade down. If my gpa is still good will they hold that "C" against me?

Well, it might hurt your Science gpa (depending on what you made in other classes). Is it the end of the world? nah. I got a C+ in calculus and I got an interview, so just be sure you keep your other grades up.

Yeah, i'm more of a biology person. Chemistry isn't really my subject. A pharmacist i work with got a C in ochem, but she was already guaranteed admissions, so i guess it didn't really matter for her. I get a seperate grade for the lab portion of the class which was an A so i hope that helps. I just hope i don't need to explain why i got a C because that C was harder to earn than any A i've ever received 🙁

Don't worry about C's. GPA is only one part of the admission process. Last time I checked, UCSF admitted a student with a pre-req GPA of 2.8. I'm sure there are other schools with admitted students just like that.

Schools look for people who are well-rounded, meaning having pharmacy experience, clubs, etc etc, not just a 4.0 and 99 PCAT.

yeah dont' worry, only a C in ochem, try to get an A in ochem II, show them what you got! i mean it's okay...just try your best, pharmacy schools don't really look at the gpa only btw! good luck

in my undergrad year.. i got more C's than i ever thought i would. C in ochem will not hurt u too much.. just try not to get so many. i got an interview and accepted with lots of C's but it's not worth the ride of doubts and worries about teh gpa. if that made any sense.

so the poitn is.. try not to let it happen again.
