Out of pure curiosity of when we'll start seeing people drop like flies: What is everyone's start date?

Davis starts August 15th with a 2 week orientation. We have our white coat ceremony in there, too..
 
Mizzou's classes start the 22nd of August with orientation the week before. We don't get our white coats right off the bat.
 
ISU starts August 22nd, as well.

Which happens to be my 22nd birthday 🙂 Haha. Best birthday present ever.
 
Penn starts classes August 29th with orientation on August 23th, 24th, and 25th. 😀
 
We have an orientation starting August 10 and classes start August 15 at University of Tennessee.
 
Orientation is August 25th & 26th then classes start the 29th for Wisconsin. And if I remember correctly, first years have the building to themselves during the first week.

You got in!! I've been so busy with work I haven't had much time to comb through threads but yay 🙂 Lucky for me I'm taking the week before the move off then the week after the move off to get settled so I have a bit more of a leisurely pace to work with.
 
Ross: Aug 29- week long orientation. First day of class + white coat ceremony on Sept 5th! Possible catamaran cruise at the end of orientation... can't complain! 😀

Got the call yesterday! 🙂 I would like to have a week beforehand, but just before AVC called, I accepted a government-funded summer job, and since it's funded, it's got set start and end dates with a scheduled work plan for in between. The end date just happens to be August 26th. 😳 I would have liked to finish on the 19th and then have the weekend and the week to get moved and settled, but then I'd be leaving my work partner hanging for the entire last week, and that's not really fair to her, so we agreed on the 23rd.

According to the stuff they sent out, we also have orientation on Saturday the 27th as well...
 
Purdue begins classes on August 22nd with orientation the 18th-19th.
 
St. George starts August 15th (white coat ceremony August 16th) with orientation starting August 10th 🙂
 
Ohio State has orientation September 8, 9, and 12 and classes start September 21!
 
Orientation for Florida starts the 15th
Classes start on the 22nd

ETA: of August...white coat ceremony isn't until like 3rd year.

Orientation is Aug 1st, white coat ceremony after the orientation then class begins Aug 8th
 
August 22nd, with orientation the week prior.

I'm waiting for someone from Mississippi to come here and say they start in two weeks! Not that many Miss folks on here this year. Last year they started on like, July 1st.
 
Cornell starts with a two-day orientation on August 15th. The first day of classes (17th) is my 23rd birthday!
 
WSU's orientation week starts August 15th (including some kind of retreat and a white coat ceremony), and actual classes start the 22nd.
 
We start on August 8th for the 4 year program over at University of Edinburgh. 🙂 The first 2 days appear to be dedicated to orientation.

Here I am! We start on June 30th with orientation stuff and the first day actual classes is July 5.

I am INSANELY jealous of you all! I left my job three weeks ago to get some sort of break, but I've mostly spent it packing/making lists/hemorrhaging money....very relaxing 😉

Moving down there on Sunday! Crazy!
 
NC State has orientation on August 4,5, and 8, with our white coat ceremony on that Saturday, the 6th 🙂 Classes start on Wednesday, the 10th.
 
Wow - it seems like a lot of us are starting around the same time! Very exciting. I'm actually bored out of my mind, so jealous of those who start earlier!

Our orientation begins August 31. (Sadly, it does not involve a catamaran cruise. 😉) I think classes start September 6.

for RVC, the int'l 4yr people have an orientation that starts Sept 15th, then "fresher's week" is the 26th, I think, and I haven't completely figured out what this is yet. Classes don't officially start until Oct 3 (so late!). But we also get out super late.
 
Wow I thought Western was bad (Aug. 1) but now I'm just glad I'm not at Mississippi!!
 
Kansas has orientation on Aug 17th, 18th, & 19th and we start classes the following Monday. While I am excited to start classes, I have no problem lounging poolside for the next month and a half.

Haha yeah I'm pretty excited for classes to start BUT I'm definitely enjoying making the most of my almost 4 month summer break (my undergrad got out early May).😀

Thank you! I'm so excited! 😀 Sent in my deposit yesterday morning, and trying to work out where to live, so it's getting more real by the hour.

I don't know how I feel about the summer. I've been doing, erm, not much since exams wrapped up at the end of April. Applying for jobs, and some volunteer stuff here and there. Then I got a job, starting Monday. Original end date was Aug 26 - perfect, I thought, I'll have a week or so before classes go back in. Then AVC calls and now I'm basically finishing work and heading right to PEI. 😱 Woosh - just like that I'm suddenly totally tied up from now on! :laugh: Amazing how fast things change!
 
At Colorado State class starts Aug 22nd, with a 1 week orientation beginning Aug 15th. Coating ceremony is on the 20th. Congrats to everyone who got in! The summer is flying by! Does anyone else need to get thier book orders in early? CSU has a vet school bookstore and they want orders by Friday. It's becoming more and more real the closer we get!😀

SGU puts together a package of books and supplies for first term students and just bills us for it. we dont get to choose whether we want stuff or not, but the list they sent us today doesnt seem too unreasonable (the only thing i wish i didnt have to purchase was a 2nd stethoscope because I already have a nice one, but oh well, maybe something for large animal med haha)
 
We've heard relatively little from UCD since acceptance. THere is a little bit of info comnig from the facebook page. I would LOVE to start hearing about books needed, etc. We start 7 weeks from today so I guess there is still time for these things. I just over prepare for things as much as I can. Especially things that I am looking forward to!

At least moving to Davis this last weekend is keeping me busy.

Wow! That is soon! Like hunterjumper said, at NCSU we have orientation August, 4, 5, and 8 (white coat on the 6), and then classes start on the 10! I'm am very excited about everything starting up, but at the same time am enjoying the stage of my life I'm in right now...summer break. We just moved the 1500+ miles from Texas to Raleigh, and I'm still settling in! I need the month more of relaxation I have before classes start! I don't know when I'll have a free summer again (retirement maybe? :laugh:).

As long as we're talking about finding this for next year, just know that Ohio State will be WAY different next year as we'll be starting on semesters in 2012.

OT: I cannot wait for summer to be over. Haha. I have a countdown for the days until orientation/ vet school.

I may be regretting this come September though, haha :laugh:
 
Me too! Bored and ready for the next step to start. Maybe if I was taking time off work it'd be a little more exciting but I still have a full month left. (add that to the fact that I moved to Davis already and am commuting 45 min one way now. Summer is my favorite season - I don't remember wanting it to go by more quickly before! 🙂

For Illinois, official orientation begins on the 17th, but some activities start on the 15th. Classes begin on the 22nd with 8 weeks of clinic rotations. Real classroom classes don't start until October 17th.

The Dublin 4 year grad entry program is orientation from September 5th to the 9th and classes start for all years on Monday 12th of September.
