Hi guys! The waiting game is killing me and its still so early. Wondering which schools have sent out interview invites so far?

I copied from c/o 2025 because I am too lazy to change it. If someone wants to edit out Schools that do not interview you can, but this is the comprehensive list from that thread. It is nice to have one place for everyone to check interview dates and compare. Cheers and congratulations on your interview!

How the interview went & what kinds of questions they asked: I think it went really well! They asked me about my experiences and my stances on certain issues. It was very low stress and the interviewer was very nice.

Ross was an open-book interview. They asked a lot about my resume, transcripts, and experiences. They wanted me to further explain why I was pursuing this and why the career change (I am non-traditional). Very easy-going and good conversation! Be sure to ask questions. They told me I would receive a phonecall in about 6 weeks.

SGU was a closed-book interview. They wanted to know everything about me and my strengths and weaknesses. It was extremely conversational, low-key, no pressure. Also- be prepared to ask questions! (received an acceptance two weeks ago)

Just heard that Texas A&M is apparently doing interviews online this year. Sounds like they're planning to keep the MMI style, though.

They don’t go in order. Most schools don’t unfortunately. Not sure what the algorithm is but don’t compare by dates

I got invited for interviews at LMU(OOS, email on 10/1/21, interview tomorrow 10/25) and UPEI(OOS, email on 10/20/21, interviewTBD) so far.
 
Question: I'm a first time applicant. Do all schools at least tell you where you stand (invite, waitlist, rejection)? Or do some schools that are not interested in moving forward never reply or alert you to your status? Just wondering how much I should be worried when I don't hear anything back. I know it's still early in the interview cycles but I'm stress prone haha

They always notify you, but they typically do rejections last. However, last year one of the schools (I don't remember which) gave out acceptances after the deadline for students to decide (April 15). A lot of students chose another school where they got accepted because they hadn't heard back. A lot of people were upset about this. I don't remember which school, but I saw posts on the APVMA Facebook page...

I submitted my VMCAS application at the end of august and got the invite for the supplemental application about a week later. I haven’t heard anything else yet though. I know some people have had interview invites but it sounds like they may have submitted their application early on (like June)

Oh okay!! Thank you! I submitted a week or so before the deadline but noticed today that their website says supplemental applications would go out August- October. Which made me realize October ends this week..

Maybe check your spam? I think the email with the supplemental application came from some “kiratalent” email but had Arizona in the subject. If you don’t see it, it definitely wouldn’t hurt to send an email and ask about it! The email may have gotten lost or something. But since you submitted closer to the deadline it could also just be a waiting game for a few more days!

The APVMA Facebook page has some people who have said that they have received interview invites. I also saw people saying yesterday that some denials were sent out as well.

Hey everyone! I have 3 schools to update with:

SGU: out of country, invited to interview 8/30 via email, interviewed 9/9 via zoom (interview with an alumni and set up around our schedules, I had to reach out to her), accepted to their foundations to vet med 9/23 via email, the interview was relaxed, lasted about an hour, she had some stuff she had to ask and then just other conversation, most relaxed interview I had.

Ross: out of country, invited to interview 9/13 via email, interviewed 9/23 via online video link they provided, accepted 10/13 (received an email the night before (10/12) asking my availability for them to call with a decision, procrastinate the call until the morning of 10/13, called within minutes of my email saying they could call at any time), interviewed with an admission's person, very stressful because I was grilled on my grades because I have some lower ones, she said I would likely be accepted into their prep program but I was accepted right into the DVM

LMU: OOS (but they do not distinguish between OOS & IS), invited to interview on 10/1 via email, interviewed on 10/25 via zoom, waiting for a decision (early decisions go out mid-december and otherwise it's a waiting game), the interview was via zoom (Background information, this is my 3rd cycle and I interviewed with LMU my first cycle when interviews were in person - at this time you had an interview with one person for 15 minutes then moved to another person for another 15 minutes) but this cycle via zoom you had 2 interviewers (some say they had 3) on one zoom for 15 minutes so the interviews felt very rushed compared to before, and I actually got cut off mid sentence cause it kicks you out, but its a mix of talking about yourself and goals as well as give a situation where this happened questions


Unrelated to interviews, I applied to 17 schools total: already rejected from Midwestern and UofA, I'm assuming rejected from Missouri because they sent OOS interview invites today and I did not get one

Congrats on your interviews! Happy for you! A quick question on UofA (Arizona I assume?). How do you know you're rejected?? Did they email you?
