I don't know what happened, but I am averaging C in my cal 1 class. I already have a "W" in this class from last semester, and it seems like I can either get a C or a failing grade if I don't withdraw before the deadline. There is a slim chance that I may get a B, but THAT IS, if I am really, really lucky and get an A+ on the final, which is highly doubtful. I am also considering in majoring in philosophy, so I don't know if the C is bad for me if I have yet to take most of the prerequisites. So far the classes that will factor into my science gpa will be this class and general biology which I am getting a B. But what I worry about is if I get this C it will be hard to raise my science gpa because I am not a science major.

Just finish it out, one C won't kill you. I think it looks more problematic if you have two W's in the same exact class. Just don't get a C-, as I think a C is the bare minimum required for most med schools.

BUT If you think you will definitely fail, I would withdraw...but can you even still do that? most semesters end in the next...2 weeks or so?

I'm also not a sci major and am trying to balance out a C I got in physics 1 lecture. It's not impossible, but obviously I wouldn't prefer to be in this situation. I'm taking a few extra bio classes to raise my sGPA, that also count towards my neuroscience minor.

just thought of something, did you take precalc in college before you took calculus?

Yes, I took precalc two semesters ago, then had calculus I, dropped it, took a semester of trigonometry for review, then I am having cal I again this semester. I actually understand the material, but the problem was that I only have two tests and a final. And this second test, I just procrastinated and did not know how to study right. So, it was just a matter of not having that many test opportunities. Speaking of which, how is that C balancing out in your science gpa. Would having one science still allow you to get a decent gpa or do you need to take more upper division bio courses to raise it?

ugh, I understand the whole 2 tests and a final thing.....more or less why physics turned out the way it did for me.
it knocked my sGPA from a 3.8 to a 3.6, which is pretty dramatic for only 3 credits

(I have 8 credits of college calculus from high school, which I pulled As in, so its helping me out tremendously, without them, my current sGPA is like a 3.46)

but right now I'm in an extra biology class for no reason other than interest in the topic and to help my GPA balance out more.

so in short, no..one class won't balance it out unfortunately 🙁

but still, if you keep it a one time thing it'll work out in the end, so heres to me not getting a C in organic chem next year :xf:
