C1 in pyranose

When deciding whether 2 pyranoses (e.g. galactopyranose and glucopyranose) are enantiomers or diastereomers, do we always ignore the C1 (the anomeric carbon)? Is the anomeric carbon only useful for deciding whether the pyranose is alpha or beta (anomers)?
 
Ya I don't think you need to worry about the anomeric carbon when considering stereochemistry like that. It obviously depends on what two pyranoses or furanoses you're looking at but galactopyranose and glucopyranose will always be diastereomers. They are both aldoses, both have same number of carbons, and same connectivity but are not mirror images.
