I applied to anesthesiology and did not get a spot this year. I did get a spot in Family Medicine though. I am still interested in anesthesiology. I am not able to see if there are any posts available on "Find a Resident" until July 1st. Are there othere ways of finding a CA-1 spot for next year?

contact every program in the location that you might want to do residency and see if any spots are available. Anesthesia usually offers a couple of outside of match positions so check on these too. You should apply through the Match again; I know several people that have switched from other fields into an anesthesia position and none of them have described it as easy. You have to be willing to put yourself out there despite the strong possibility that you'll hear 10 no's. But remember you only need one yes. Good luck. Go to freida and contact programs via email/and/or phone.
