CA License Timeline

To those who have a CA license,

How long did it take you to get your license for the first time? The dental board said they received my application on 6/6, and I passed the law exam on 6/17.

I emailed the board on 6/21 and all they said was they process the applications in the order they are received and cannot give me any specific timeline on when it will be done. But now it’s been almost a month and I’m getting a little restless that it hasn’t come yet. Is this normal for the dental board to take this long?

6-8 weeks used to be the norm before covid. Not sure what it is now.

No not yet. I received a letter this week saying they were just sending in my fingerprints to the department of justice and to check back in two weeks. So that will put me over 2 months since they received my application without a license. It’s just kinda frustrating.

Update: I just emailed them this morning, and they said my application was completed and approved! So just over two months from when it got submitted.
