Is Cabrini (mount Sinai affiliate, New York) Psychiatry, going to interview and parcipitate in the match😕?

Personally, I know from a very reliable source that they are closing the hospital in the next June 100%!!! 😱

I know that several Cabrini residents (PGY-2,3) jumped ship to other programs this summer. I don't remember the specifics (might be in the NYTimes), but I think Cabrini agreed to abide by the Berger Commission recommendations and close the hospital. I would warn anyone against considering this program if it's avaiilable for the match this year.

its no secret that cabrini is closing. they are definitely not participating in the match. their residents are interviewing now for new spots at other programs and many have already signed agreements with other programs. i know the original projected date for the last day for residents was supposedly the end of september, but im not sure if that is set in stone. the hospital itself i think may stay open until June, i know for sure they are still admitting new patients. i believe it is eventually going to be a long term care facility. i know my program is taking 1-2 from each class, which will definitely help our call schedule! im hopin they start soon!
