He basically said at the top that he knows more than a hospital since he's an RT.

Now how stupid would I be to criticize a building? I was criticizing the judgments and practices of some of my fellow RT's.

In other posts, he'll say he knows more than doctors because of his EMT experience.

Nope....at least not when we are in our respective fields. I openly admit that I don't know more about dermatology than a dermatologist or more about infectious disease than an ID specialist, but I would almost bet money that I could probably run circles around then when it comes to airway, ventilation, or emergency procedures. Everyone has their strengths and they are normally what they do day in and day out. You should remember this, before you criticize. 👎

Today we found dentures in our cadaver. And the people that normally remove the brains before they send the body to us forgot to take out the cerebellum

When did you go on a tour? I just went on a tour there also and was squeamish about the cadaver and turned around so I didnt have to see it. But Eventually I turned back and looked at it. Maybe we were on the same tour?

Aahhaha, yea I think you're the one that road in my car (it was the UH tour in December after finals)? I don't remember who (it wasn't you), but two people sort of walked away when the tour guide opened the doors to the cadaver table. Good to hear some other UH folks are on here. What school are you going for? I'm hoping for either UT Houston Med school (wow, that place was sooo nice. I've never seen anything like it) or UT Houston GSBS (their grad school). Did you ever get to have your meeting with Dr. Kelaway? Did she have any good advice?

I have found that in our gross anatomy class, the worst part of it is not the smell of the formalin (formaldehyde) but the smell of the fat under the skin and something in the axillary region. It tends to irritate my nasal passages more than anything (the smell in the room doesn't bother me), and you sometimes have to stand back before continuing a dissection.

Probably the weirdest thing so far is while dissecting the axillary region, my fellow students on the other side kept moving the cadaver's hand and the fingers kept tapping me on the head. You just try not to think about what you are actually doing, and focus on the dissection and learning aspects.
