Calc during summer?

Freshman in a direct admit 5 year PA program. They have us take pre-calc by default, but I don't want to close any doors for medical school. Would medical schools look down at taking Calc I and II at a big community college during the summer? If so, I could still squeeze it into next semester I suppose.

I have 6 AP english credits. Should I still try to take a year of lit/writing?

Calculus is not required at many schools. Look up the pre reqs at your state schools and take it from there. If you want to take math useful for medicine: stats.

Probably wouldn't need two semesters of calculus for PA school or medical school, unless you're doing a dual degree program that requires it for the PhD. That being said, I enjoyed my summer of calculus and would recommend doing it for yourself and an understanding of biology/chemistry/physics deeper than you usually get.

As far the AP English credits, they probably won't be accepted at most medical schools, so take two semesters of college level English. First year English courses tend to be pretty easy anyway.

You don't need cal 2 for the majority of schools, take stats is way easy and applicable to research/medicine.

Ehh...I don't know about ALL schools but about 90% of the ones I'm applying to accept AP credit.
