Calc vs stats

I searched for this and couldn't find anything ...

What is more intuitive - calc 1 or stats 1? If I have the opportunity to take either, what's a better option? Math is my least favorite subject so I'm looking for the option that is least likely to break my gpa

Stats is a lot more concrete than calc, so most people find it easier.

Some schools require both calc and stats as requirements, while some only need one or the other, so I would check the schools you'd want to apply to before you decide which one you take.

Calc will never ever ever be tested once you get into med school.

Stats wil be tested on Step 1 and maybe Step 2. And you will need a good base of stats to stay up to date and cull data from journal publications as a physician.

I took calc. Wish I would have taken stats, esp for Step 1 where there it is 2-5% of it.

Calculus is a lot like Algebra II and usually taught just like algebra was in high school. If you hated algebra you'll probably hate calculus.

Intro Stats is very different. You start by learning probability which is kind of like high school math but the formulas are a lot simple: x=ab vs x = -b/2a +/- sqrt(b^2-4ac) from high school and calculus.

Then you move to stats which isn't much like math at all and most people think is interesting. It's not that intuitive but if you practice explaining the key concepts to yourself or a study group they'll sink in faster than calculus would.

Which is more intuitive will likely depend on your learning style, that being said, I would agree with what people have already said, Stats will be more useful for you in medicine.
