Hi All,

I'm going to take the CPJE this Thursday 2/6/14 and I'm wondering how much math/calculations there is on a typical test? If there is a bit does it focus on clinical things like IV infusion rates, stats, dosing , 1/2 life, etc...
Any suggestions on what to study is appreciated...

And is the BOP QA process still ongoing? I'm finding hard to get a straight answer on this one??

Thanks,

Cotojoe

Could you give me some feedback on how you studied for the CPJE and what you thought of it? I am going to take it in the next week of two. Thanks.

I read the Weissman book, and bought the RxPrep CPJE video/booklet/quizbank series, reviewed the clinical info from RxPrep that they recommended, and did all of the exam practice questions therein and all that I could find on the web... But most importantly I've been working 32 hrs/wk in a clinical/compounding/retail setting... that really helped make the law & operations parts reality. The exam seemed fairly straight forward to me... I know I missed a few easy clinical Q's, after thinking about them after the exam, but I was done with 30 mins to spare (1.5 hrs out of 2 hrs)... I did not finish the NAPLEX (170 out of 190), but passed with a 92... I hope I'm not too over confident, but...... we'll see when the CA board gets the QA done....

My calculations were hard. I was shock. Naplex math werent as hard as the cpje. Maybe it was just my version.
Care to share what kind of calculations you got besides crcl? Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Are you allowed to bring a calculator, or do they have them at the testing site for use during the CPJE?

Sorry, No one can bring calculator.

CPJE: testing site has calculator but they refused to give out. They said they would give it out if computer calculator is not working. Computer calculator exists for you to use.
But, CPJE math is very very easy to calculate by hand. We can get done faster by hand. No log, no square root, no cube root...

(NAPLEX CALCULATOR: that's a different story. In summary, NAPLEX guide says testing site must supply calculator but testing site often get confused and not give out calculator. If you want to know more, please search around this forum for discussions related to keyword NAPLEX CALCULATOR to get more details. This discussion is CPJE.)
