Calculator on real DAT test

For people who got high score on DAT Math. Is this on screen calculator really helpful?

I still hate to use on-screen calculator.

It's just easiest to simplify down yourself and do the math as opposed to trying to mess with the calculator. I just simplified and cancelled out as much as possible and used the calculator whenever it was absolutely necessary. It is LOT faster this way because the calculator is so ancient that it takes forever to click in your numbers and what not

I found the on screen calculator very helpful. I used it for at least 10 of the problems and I thought it saved me a lot of time. I consider myself to not be that great at math and stilled pulled off a 23 in that section, which I don't think I would have without the calculator.

Take advantage of the 15minute tutorial before the science survey. Do not go right into science section.

During the 15minute tutorial, check if the calculator is functional. As in, if you click and it is pretty responsive without much lag, then take every advantage of it.

Demps has a great suggestion, definitely give that thing a test-run.

Personally, I use a lot of guess and check in my math solving and the calculator really helps me to do that. For instance, if a question asks which fraction is the smallest, I can usually eliminate two of the answer choices right away and then I just plug the last three in the calculator to get the decimal.

I found the calculator to be a big help, I would estimate that I used it on about 15 questions.
