Calculus 2 is not hard!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Taylor series was hard in that I can always recognize the pattern, but I could not derive the formula for the pattern (ex. 2^x-1) or something. So that was tough. Other stuff were not "hard" conceptually, just hard in because you have to practice a lot, or I did.

It was definitely one of my harder courses though.

Haha yeah, the taylor series was probably the hardest thing for me in calc 2 as well. The rest wasn't all to bad.

Please let this thread die. 🙁

Taylor expansions are probably the most useful thing you'll learn in Calc 2. If you go on to take any higher math or physics courses, that stuff'll pop up constantly. You'd really be surprised how many problems are best solved by making a Taylor series and just ditching every term except the first two or three.

this thread is so funny 🙂

Never let this one die

All of them, set inside his mind,
Bet none of ya thought,

I don't understand why everyone is so scared of Calculus 2. I thought it was very easy. There wasn't a concept in it that I didn't understand the first time around. And for those infinite series...what's the big deal? I'm actually curious because all my friends got me all scared that this class would be too hard for me. So, what is so hard about it?

Would you like a cookie?

Also, at my undergrad, infinite series and the like was covered in calc I, multiple integrals and the like in calc II. Maybe your school justs boost the number to make you feel better; clearly it worked.

two things.

1) the username who posted this was "patelb"....the person is indian hence all indians are good at calc 2. i learned this in philosophy.
2) i took calc 2 at a CC, and we never made it to taylor or infinite series, that's why it was easy for me.
2) not having friends/sex actually does help you concentrate better at hard classes. for a summer when my gf was gone, and all my friends went back home, i had summer school for physics. got an easy A. as opposed to when i took it during the regular school year, and was having regular sex, i had to drop the class after a month. i think this experiment was scientific. it didn't get published though 😕

Calculus is easy when your final is the same as your practice final except for a couple of numbers changed.

calc 2 is sooo hard! what are you talking about?? I am asian and my whole family is good at math except for me and this class brought me in tears when I got a B after studying soooo hard.

Tears after a B, hm? Well, good luck in med school!

Milkman, those two highlighted things don't go together in society; that's what brought the tears.

I have found that having never taken any calculus whatsoever was even easier than Calc II. No regrets.

OP, thanks for posting this. At first it just made me roll my eyes, but now it makes me smile every time I see it.:laugh::laugh:

Big whoop for you!

All you did was avoid screwing up your BCPM GPA with a non-essential class.

Write back when you find Organic and Physics as easy...
I'm taking both orgo and calc 2 first semester of freshmen year 😱

Nature accepted my article (first author) on this. That's why I got into medical school.

Dienekes88, et al. "The Effect of Bonin' on Concentratin'." Nature. In press.

^^ lol. You can get laid and still ace calculus 2
Actually, what they're teaching you in math and calculus 2 is basically advanced pick up lines. You start off in elementary school learning the basics, like "Babbby, can I add you, subtract your clothes, divide your legs, and multiply?"....But then as you get older and more professional, you need to change your style, so after taking calculus 2 your like "Can I integrate you 2niteee?"

woooooooooo south asians! we got our first gold medal yesterday!!! sorry i digress...calc II is the ****. challenging, but a crazy mind-trip. i would always forgot to write " + C " haha good timessss

Yea, can't forget the constant of integration +c.
