What kind of calculs is used in the class?

Because at my school, they recommend you take math1C (Introduction to functions of more than one variable, including vectors, partial differentiation, the gradient, contour diagrams and optimization. Additional topics include infinite series, convergence, Taylor and Fourier series.) during or before you take the physics class.

I loathe the idea of taking an excessive calculus class. For those of you who have taken magnetism and electricity, what kind of calculus did you use in the class? Do you think math1C is requisite in order to do well in the physics class?

having some calculus while taking that class is helpful, but you won't be doing too much calculus in there. simple derivation and integration should be enough calculus for that class.

knowing about vectors would definitely help in learning the concepts and also working problems.
