Hey everyone,
There's a calculus course called Calculus I for Business and Social Science at my school. It's under the math department (rather than business or ss).

I know some schools do not accept business calculus, but do most schools accept it in place of regular calculus? Regular calculus will not fit so well with my schedule...

Also, would this calculus be harder (than regular calc) for someone like me who has never taken a business class before, and isn't familiar with business ideas/concepts?

Is there a reason you wouldn't want to take regular calc?

im not sure but i wouldnt risk it without finding out for sure....
anyways i would guess that it would just be taught with more emphasis on business related math

good luck👍

Thanks, missed that part.

Is it just a schedule problem this semester? Can you take normal calc in another semester that might fit better with your schedule? I honestly think you'd probably find business calculus pretty boring since you aren't a business major. I think it's best to take regular calc if at all possible, even if it isn't this semester.

I'm facing similar situation as well

Wouldn't the better idea be to contact the schools you're thinking of applying and asking them if they consider the class? That's what I did when I had trouble figuring out what they accepted.

My school's premed department says any calculus will make due. But even then these days just college level math and stat will suffice.

I mean in all honesty neither has all that much use and chances are you'll have forgotten the majority of it by med school.
