Calculus prereq

I am a post-bacc student pursuing the prereqs to pharm school. I am wondering what would be the best class to take in order to prepare for calculus. College algebra? Trig? The last "real" math class I had was pre-cal and that was 12 years ago. I was an A/B math student back in the day... Any recommendations are appreciated.

I would probably take precalculus since it contains algebra and trig. Hopefully, you'll be able to recall the algebra and trig fundamentals well enough to do well in precalc.

PRECALC all the way. I took it as a prereq. for my calculus class and it helped so much!

See, I disagree. I am a math teacher and I would advise taking trig. I teach precalc and trig both, and precalc is more "post algebra" than "precalc". Trig is very necessary, especially the identities.

My last algebra class was in 1972 (algebra II in high school). When I decided to get my biology degree in 2001, I took a placement test. I missed some algebra problems and didn't know any trig. They wanted to place me in college algebra. When I talked to the head of the biology department, he okayed me to take pre-calculus. This allowed me to brush up on my algebra and learn trig. My pre-calc class was 90% trig, but you needed algebra to solve problems. In fact, my school didn't offer a course called trigonometry, they just had pre-calc. Maybe it really was a trig course in disguise.
