Calculus versus Algebra based Physics for OT prereqs?

Hi,

I'm trying to decide on whether to take algebra or calculus based Physics and was wondering which one you guys took? Almost every OT school wants Physics for science majors but does not explicitly say to take the calculus based. Do you think the calculus based Physics would give anyone a leg up in the application process, by showing schools that you can handle more rigorous science courses, or does it not make a difference as long as you do very well, in your opinion?

Go with what you are more comfortable with if it does not specifically say that they would like a calculus bases physics in the course requirements. If you are still unsure then try contacting the programs to find out if they have a preference- I really don't think most programs would though.

You should contact the programs and find out what they prefer. Most programs accept Algebra and go with it. Calculus based Physics is usually for engineering majors. I think it is a lot more difficult.....

If there's even a chance you won't get as good of a grade as if you took the algebra-based don't do it! Admissions committees might not even notice that it's more difficult and your pre-req and overall grades are going to be compared to people who have taken easier physics either way. I wouldn't do it unless you happen to be super awesome at calculus and physics and think it would be fun 😎

Go with algebra...most programs I contacted said that was good.

Thanks guys, I decided it would be silly to risk it, especially for a summer course. It looks like they cover more topics in the algebra based one at most schools anyway.
